Smoothies

These smoothie recipes are suggested meal ideas found on Foodhead Fact Sheets. They are another tool you can use to help you along your health and wellness journey.

1 cup berries of your choice
1 banana
1 tbsp ground flax seeds

Put all ingredients into blender and add as much water as required to thin the smoothie to your desired consistency.

Options: add a dollop of almond butter (for protein) or a tsp of flax seed oil (for Omega-3 fatty acids).

1 1/2 cups kale, chard, spinach or combination of all three
1 stalk celery
1 green apple
2 tbsp nuts or nut butter
1 tbsp ground flax seeds or flax oil
1 cup water

Put all ingredients into a high powered blender adding water as required to thin the smoothie to your desired consistency.

1/2 cup berries of your choice
1/2 banana

dash cinnamon
1 cup water

Put all ingredients into a high powered blender adding water as required to thin the smoothie to your desired consistency.

3 kale leaves
3 romaine leaves
1/2 cucumber
1/2 inch piece of fresh ginger
1 pear
1/3 cup blueberries
1 tsp flax oil or ground flaxseeds
1 or 2 cups water, for desired consistency
2 tbsp nut butter of choice (optional)

Wash all fruit and vegetables. Blend all ingredients in a high powered blender.

1/2 cup pineapple
1/2 cup berries of choice
1/4 cup shredded broccoli
1/4 cup shredded carrot
1/2 cup almond milk
4 kale leaves
1 tsp honey
1/2 to 1 cup water

Wash produce. Blend all ingredients in a high powered blender.

1 banana
1/2 an avocado
1/2 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
1/2 to 1 cup water

Blend all ingredients in a high powered blender.
